What are the pros and cons between a laptop PC or Mac?
I'm in the market for a new laptop as mine is being old and out dated, I have a Dell Inspiron of about 4 years now and have been quite happy with it, but I need a bit more again. All my friends use Mac books are happy with them, I used a few times but not enough to buy one, somehow what are the pros and cons of a Laptop and a laptop Mac? I do not play any computer game or anything like that, I do watch DVDs on it when I travel with it. Use mainly for interest and perhaps editing movies or pictures. Configuration is also my home network via a desktop PC, if I have a Mac I will be able connecting to the network?
I do not really find advantages over the Mac because all unclaimed "pros" because they are more than one program in Linux (no virus, spyware). Mac spyware and viruses just not as much as the market is smaller PC = Variety of specifications, options, quality, prices, suppliers, = A provider of Mac support, limited options, even more expensive. See below for more information .. contrary to belief, Macs are not better quality. They use a lot of the same parts as PCs. Apple has also tried to change supplier "to lower the price and thus reduce the quality. Up even with lower prices, Macs still cost more, they spend a greater percentage of the budget trying to make it look nice, and marketing. Today, Macs are use the same hardware as PCs. Why spend more for the same CPU chips, graphics cards and OS X is not as safe as it seems .. See below. WINDOWS ADVANTAGES: Aprox 90% of the market is Windows. Most computers include windows already pre-installed. 1) There are a number of websites that still require Internet Explorer to see and IE for Mac stinks (which is really ies4osx version of Windows Internet Explorer runs really buggy OS X and is illegal unless you have a legitimate copy Windows, too many problems with it). 2) More support peripherals (printers and other things connected to the computer) in Windows. 4) If you like the Dock in OS X (Mac), Google / Yahoo RocketDock, objectdoc. I also install Avira AntiVir, Avast, Comodo Firewall in Vista, as there are free versions. LINUX ADVANTAGES: 1) Installing Linux and then get tons of free material. Updates done, etc.. Linux is very easy and has tons of software to be updated automatically. (Checking a checkbox in either two ways to install (Add / Remove or Synaptic Package Manager), some research which I check a box and click Apply) 2) If you like the effects on a Macintosh or Compiz Fusion Google Yahoo Go. You can do almost any Mac can do a cool effect and more … 3) If you like the Dock in OS X (Mac), Google / Yahoo Cairo Dock browser window advanced. 4) Linux is more secure. I surf the Internet and even can run some Windows programs to Linux. Linux Operating System If you're concerned about viruses, spyware, security, test Linux (free), I have included information on Linux and links to be lost if you decide not try. Easily convert the system in a dual boot machine with Linux, fast, safe Safe and easy to use (contrary to belief). Then get the best of both worlds (Windows with all its supported products, connect freely with no concern), or Ubuntu would be my recommendation (and popular support for Linux), Kubuntu (KDE version of Ubuntu), Freespire (Windows has all the codecs to see videos, DVDs out of the box), PCLinuxOS (Linux very pleasant, easy to use and polished), there are many good versions Linux, in addition to these. NOTE: On Linux there are many forms of Windows environments, which are the two main KDE (K Desktop) and GNOME. Ubuntu uses Gnome, Kubuntu is the KDE version of Ubuntu, PCLinuxOS, Freespire use KDE … The differences in the environments of Windows (desktop) monitor so configured, open close the windows, the appearance of windows … linuxfoundation.org / en / OpenPrinting helps with printer support. ScreenCasts.ubuntu.com show video help with video and learn to work with Ubuntu. There are many good Linux distributions for various reasons, distrowatch.com, polishlinux.org, desktoplinux.com are good website for the global understanding of Linux. Installing Linux is much simpler and more secure than OS X (Macintosh) and free. In addition, most Linux distributions have a LiveCD which means you can try without … The installation of Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Freespire, PCLinuxOS, etc.. all have live CD. All you have to do is download .. A) file. iso off the internet from the Linux website B) burn the. iso on a CD or DVD (Make sure your recording software you can burn an ISO image or get InfraRecorder http://infrarecorder.org/) C), reboot with the CD in drive D) As the computer restarts, press F12 key in a bunch of times and get a boot menu) Select the option to boot from CD or DVD. Click this link and follow the instructions to point "Once the system has started …", (the other is the windows backup) for a photo guide for easy steps on http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/use-ubuntu of AE-live-cd-backup files-from-your-death-Windows-computer / For simple instructions on setting Dual-Boot http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_windows_xp_and_linux_xp_installed_first.htm ANOTHER QUICK NOTE: People have been able to run OS X on a PC from PC and Mac, use the same hardware. This is not legal and I would not recommend for safety reasons it legal, but I've included a link to show that the purpose is to show that there is nothing special about the MAC.) price … A similar equipped PC is much cheaper than buying Macs Allows the use Dell (but you can compare with another brand of PC if desired) *****************( laptop) Dell Inspiron Laptop $ 849 dropped to $ 799 15 "Screen CPU: (upgrade to) 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 Memory: 3GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz Hard Drive: 320GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm Optical Drive: Blu-ray Disc Combo (DVD + /-RW + BD-ROM) – WRITES DVDs, CDs, Blu-Ray discs read Macbook $ 1349 just dropped to $ 1224 13 "screen (smaller) CPU: 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (SAME) Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 (SAME) Memory: (upgrade) 2GB DDR2 667MHz SDRAM (less RAM) Hard Drive (Upgrade) 250GBSerial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm (smaller hard drive) Optical Drive: (DVD-ROM/CD-RW) – (Burn CDs, DVD, Blu-Ray can not read) (worst and 1 / 2 SPEED) ****************( Desktop) NOTE: I'm comparing Apple's Mac vs. Dells best offer. If you decide should have an all in one. The Dell all in one has more RAM, a keyboard and a wireless mouse and equivalent to $ 400 free to make the iMac even more expensive when you upgrade to try to match the iMac. Personally I do not think the All-in-one are a good option, and considered too expensive, lack of extension and repairs while more costly and require the entire team. PS: Apple knows that it must look different Macintosh to a PC for every Mac except the Mac Pro will have an option of tower. Lower end Apple lacks the capacity expansion, but makes the Mac "look different", if Mac had a Tower of low-end, more people are aware of the similarities between the two. Dell: (Right Now) Specs Below cost U.S. $ 809 CPU: 2.4 GHz Dell Inspiron QUAD (4 Processor) CORE SCREEN: 20inch Screen Memory: 3 GB RAM Hard Drive: 500 GB Hard Drive Optical Drive: 16x DVD / CD Read / Writer GRAPHICS: (upgrade a) ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO 128MB L 'Best Deal Mac is not the Mac Mini, since it does not monitor, keyboard, mouse, very little in the options and settings … IMac the price is better than the Mac Mini. IMac ($ 1,400) CPU: Dual 2.4 GHz (2 processors) Core (slower CPU) Screen: 20inch screen memory: (update a) 2 GB of RAM (less RAM) Hard Drive: (upgrade) 500 GB Hard Drive Optical Drive: 8x DVD Reader / Writer (1 / 2 speed) GRAPHICS: ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO 128MB ************************ END OF TABLE B) SECURITY: Mac OS X hack in 2006 was less than 30 minutes, and hacker in 2 minutes a contest in 2008. Linux and Vista could not be a hacker to another day when restrictions low. All Mac computers are standardized with cameras, but if you hack system, the hacker will most likely be able to turn on the camera. Note: All OS has vulnerabilities. C) VIRUSES The argument that OS X has less virus is true, but that is against XP, but Mac OS X has viruses, a friend of mine has a Mac viruses. As more users use Macs, more viruses out. Especially when users think "they are safe." Google / Yahoo Mac Viruses D) is deducted license Windows PC does not pay full price, for example Dell -> you pay $ 50 or less for Vista Home Premium If you buy a Mac and you want Vista, you pay full price. D) capacity expansion and repair … With AppleCare you should leave $ 300 and no guarantee the computer will be fixed, may cost more .. Repairs are more expensive than the PC from the iMac, Mac Mini are compact units, and Apple charges a premium for their services. Some repairs can be done by another repair service, the compact design of the equipment due problems. With an iMac, if the problem is with the monitor, the whole team should be in. iMac and Mac mini lack expansion. i) Macintosh problems are far from error free. Sample problem: overheating MacBook, OS X does not respond to keyboard, some units with 16-bit displays, so statistics are Apple misleading because the problem with the Mac machines are more likely to go out and buy a new PC computer users. Apple is lowering prices on which means you can expect lower quality than in the past. Apple had changed parts manufacturers. OS X has trouble slowing down.
